<video:title>When Anger Writes the Reply | Krishna on the Restless Mind</video:title>
<video:description>Can awareness interrupt anger before it becomes a reply?

In Bhagavad Gita 6.34, Arjuna describes the mind as restless, turbulent, powerful, and difficult to restrain—as hard to control as the wind. In 6.35, Krishna answers with abhyasa (practice) and vairagya (detachment).

This short brings that exchange into an ordinary modern moment: the phone is face down, but the argument continues inside your head. Awareness begins when a familiar thought stops becoming an automatic action.

      <video:description>Who thought your last thought?

Late at night, an angry reply can feel like the only answer. This short follows an unsent message, Benjamin Libet’s 1983 experiment, and the learned grooves that can turn a thought into action.

This short does not claim that every decision is predetermined. Libet’s experiment concerned small, voluntary movements. The real question is what we do once we notice an urge.

<video:title>Did Your Brain Decide Before You Did? | The Libet Experiment #Consciousness #FreeWill #Mindfulness</video:title>
<video:description>In 1983, neuroscientist Benjamin Libet ran an experiment that made people question where a decision begins—and whether awareness can still change what happens next.
Who thought your last thought?

Late at night, a conversation is over, but one sentence is still alive inside you. Your thumb rests above Send. You want the other person to feel, for one second, what it felt like not to be heard.

Before you reply, try something smaller. Picture a red apple. That thought was invited. Now let the apple go. Do not solve a problem. Do not search for the right answer. Just notice what arrives.

This film follows that ordinary moment through a simple experiment about a finger, a clock, and the strange interval between an urge and an action.

Brain activity can begin before we report a simple decision. But that does not settle every question about freedom, responsibility, or the life we choose to build.

Vedanta offers a different place to stand: not outside life, and not above the mind, but awake enough to see a thought before it becomes a story, an intention, and an action. A thought may arrive. The response is where practice begins.

This is not a lecture telling you what to believe. It is an invitation to look honestly at the next thought—and at the small distance before your hand moves.

<video:title>Why Women Live Longer Than Men | The Biology of Survival</video:title>
<video:description>I watched my infant daughter reach her hand toward the morning light — and it forced me to rethink everything I believed about strength.

For most of my life I confused the power to conquer with the power to endure. We build our cities, our markets, and now our artificial intelligence in the image of pure striving — only to realize that the most powerful systems we construct are also the most fragile.

This is The Shield — the biology, the chemistry, and the ancient philosophy of endurance, told across three worlds.

🔬 THE SCIENCE
Across three centuries of famines and epidemics — the harshest crises in recorded history — women robustly outlived men, and the advantage was strongest in newborn girls, where behaviour cannot explain it (Zarulli et al., PNAS 2018). We trace it to the cell: the XX genetic backup that men do not have (Lemaître et al., PNAS 2020), and estrogen as an immune and dopamine stabiliser, where the male loop spikes and crashes.

🕉️ THE PHILOSOPHY
The sages named these two forces Shiva and Shakti. Shiva is silent, unmoving awareness — the structure. But without Shakti, the dynamic self-organising energy, "the Lord is incapable of even a stirring" (Adi Shankaracharya, Saundarya Lahari, Verse 1).

🤖 THE MACHINE
We built AI as pure calculation — the peak of striving, with no cell to heal and no heart to stop. The chip melts. The child reaches. Which is built to last?

<video:description>You carry about 30 trillion of your own cells — and you share your body with just as many other living things. By the simplest honest count, you are not even a majority of yourself.

Not one of those trillions can think. They are simply, stubbornly alive — and that is the one thing no machine we have ever built can do. Not intelligence. Life. The fire the old texts called chetna.

So when people ask "are the machines waking up?", I think the words are wrong. The real line was never smart vs dumb. It's alive vs driven. A driven thing runs. A living thing has something at stake.

<video:title>Can AI Ever Be Alive? What a Fever Taught Me</video:title>
<video:description>One night my four-year-old son spiked a fever past 103°F. I build artificial intelligence for a living — and I sat there, completely unable to do the one thing his small body was doing all on its own: fighting to stay alive.

That night I realised we've been asking the wrong question for twenty years. Everyone keeps asking how smart these machines can get. But smart was never the mystery.

Life is.

This is a film about the one thing no machine we have ever built can do — and about how easy it has become to forget we ever had it. It moves from a baby who out-physics the most advanced AI on Earth, to the thirty-eight trillion other lives living inside you, to the single difference between something that is alive and something that is only driven from the outside.

It is not a film about AI versus humans. It's a film about being alive.

<video:description>My daughter reached for the light before she had a word for "light." I build artificial intelligence for a living — and that one gesture undid everything I thought I knew about what a mind is.

This is the first entry in My Honest Diary — a father, a researcher, and a question that neither code nor science could close: what was she reaching for, before she had a name for anything?

We spend our lives adding things to ourselves — a phone, a profile, a role, a reputation. The machines we are building can learn all of it. They can learn what you do, what you like, even how you speak. But there is one thing they cannot reach: the awareness that is doing the watching. The one who was already there, in a six-month-old, before the first word.

The question is not what machines will become. The question is what you will remain.

<video:description>You will not be replaced by AI. You'll be replaced by the version of you that was already mostly machine.

AI does not need to become conscious to replace most of what humans do. It only needs to match what ninety-five percent of us already are. Running on dopamine loops. Inherited beliefs. Algorithmic feeds.

The two curves meet in the middle. Not because AI rises to humans. Because humans sink to AI.

The question is not what machines will become. The question is what you will remain.
